How to Get Certified as A Flagger for Highway Projects
One of the areas that will see some Recovery Act fund is road construction. You can become part of the industry with just a little training. One component that is needed for almost every road job is Safety Flaggers.
Here is an advertisement that was in today's Craigslist that shows the need for a project in Arizona:

* Receive and communicate instructions clearly, firmly and courteously
* Move and maneuver quickly to avoid danger from errant vehicles
* Control signaling devices to provide clear and positive guidance to road users
* Understand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful or emergency situations
* Recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work effectively in the outside elements
* Must have transportation
* Must be flexible for scheduling purposes
* Must have a clean background
* Must be able to pass a drug screen
