The number of people that have computers and use the internet throughout the world is astounding.  According to the latest estimates there are over 1.5 billion users of the internet and that is a fantastic market.  If you are looking for a business to operate at home you need to investigate marketing online!

 The blog is the most inexpensive vehicle that is available for a newbie!  If you are not techno savvy you can learn the basics very easily.  There are many free resources on the web that can offer you many free tips.

2. Do not get caught up in the designing of your blog. 

You need to concentrate on your business of marketing so you will want to find the best design for the lowest amount of money.  If you are not computer literate you can find an online program that is user friendly!

You can also pay somebody to design your blog but I personally recommend that you save your money.

 3.  Own your hosting account.

I recommend that you find a blog hosting account that you can own.  The free hosting blogs sites such as WordPress.com and Blogger are not owned by you and can cause you problems down the road.  These sites tend to not let you monetize your blog site.

 4. Remember that you only have one chance to make a first impression.

It is a known fact that you only have about seven (7) seconds to impress your blog visitors.  Once somebody lands on your site they may leave quickly if they are not impressed by what they see.  This is where your creativity and your site appearance needs to make your visitors want to stay and explore what you have to offer.

You must make their visit enjoyable and memorable so they will want to revisit your site often.

5. Invest in yourself.

Never stop learning about marketing and the internet!  Spend your free time researching and reading about ways to make yourself more successful.  You alone will determine whether you are successful or not so aim for success and you will achieve it!
